New MOMS Club Board Announces Fall Open House

posted Oct 19, 2014, 6:36 AM by Dorothy Jones
For ten years now, the MOMS Club® of Battle Creek has been in existence with its mission of MOMS Offering Moms Support®. This month the group will host an open house to share this experience with other stay-at-home moms.

The club’s newly elected Board of Directors invite stay-at-home or mostly at-home parents wanting to find out more about the club. Current club members will be there to mingle together with prospective moms and their children. There will be activities for moms and kids, snacks, and fun for everyone. The event will be held on Wednesday, October 22 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the lower level of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.

New Membership Vice President Jill B. said, “This is a great chance for moms to check us out and find out how being a member of the MOMS Club can benefit them. I was grateful to find a group of moms that could relate to what I was going through staying home with my kids. Plus, it gives us great opportunities to go places and experience fun things that I never would do on my own. I didn’t even know that some of these cool places existed! From picking pumpkins to delivering homemade valentines at a retirement home to going to a petting zoo, it’s been fun for me and my boys. I’ve enjoyed spending time with other moms in playgroups, too. My boys can play while I talk with new and old friends.”

President Sherry K. says, “MOMS Club is great for the stay-at-home mom who doesn't like to stay at home. I fit into that category. I love being able to get out of the house with the kids to do some fun activities with other moms, many of which are going through the same struggles I am." For those unable to make it to the open house, she recommends “Interested moms or dads contact us through the website at www.MOMSClubofBattleCreek.org or directly at MVP@MOMSClubofBattleCreek.org."

The Club’s Board of Directors creates a calendar of events each month. The events are scheduled at a variety of times during the morning and afternoon to hopefully meet the varied schedules of each household. Activities include in-home playgroups, park days in season, children’s activities, field trips, MOMS Night Out, homemade crafts, stroller walks, and more.
